The inference engine is very powerful in Google Sketchup. It cannot be turned off. So it is a good idea to be aware when something is being inferred or referenced. Whenever you see a pop-up tip, a colored line, or a colored point, that is SketchUp's inference engine at work. SketchUp will automatically infer to the last five points drawn, but you can encourage inferences simply by hovering over a geomerty. You can also reference the center of an arc or circle by hovering over its edge.
