The Isle of May is a Scottish National Nature Reserve located 5 miles off the Scotland coast. There are no inhabitants other than the many nesting seabirds including puffins, kittiwakes, terns, gulls, eider ducks, quillemots, and more. While on a tour around the UK on the Sea Spirit, Poseidon’s Expedition ship, in early June 2019 we visited the island to spend time with the seabirds – mainly to enjoy the puffins, many of which were carrying food to their young in hidden burrows.
