Life for 12-week-old "Ramona" has been anything but kind. The puppy was found cowering in the woods in Acton, Mass. on Nov. 15 with suspected chemical burns covering 40 percent of her body. Her front left leg was broken and she had a series of puncture wounds across her back.

A good Samaritan found her and rushed her to us, and we're nursing her back to health. Despite all this amazing little dog has been through, her will to live--and her love of attention--give our team hope that she will pull through.

She's undergoing a mandatory four-month quarantine, and our team may have to amputate her front leg at some point in the near future, but we're very much hoping we can nurse her to a full recovery AND find her a perfect home when the time comes.

Her medical bills are expected to top out at about $4,000; if you'd like to help fund her care you can do so via mspca.org/helpramona

Finally, the Acton Police Dept. has opened a cruelty investigation and there is a $1,000 reward for information that leads to a cruelty conviction. If you know who did this to Ramona please call the Acton PD at 978-929-7711.
