A tidal wave of foam, several feet high, "began spewing out of an industrial building near Santa Clara's international airport on Friday. Officials said the foam was "accidental discharge." One passerby was driving in her car and described the peculiar sight at "the largest bubble bath ever." The foam, which is a fire retardant, was accidentally discharged from a fire suppression system. San Jose Fire Department Captain Mitch Matlow said the foam functioned "exactly the way the system is supposed to in the event of a fire." Officials say the foam isn't hazardous to people but it's dangerous to the environment.
