Gotcha the Moluccan Cockatoo.
Letty the African Grey.

Lmao, so Ollie is always laughing at Gotcha when he's being silly and running around lol. But at the same time he acts like Gotcha is gonna come charging through the play pen and get him! 😂 He's safe inside the pen by the way, I'm always watching for little fingers poking through it also.
The combination of fun laughter and scariness has me cracking up! Lol

*side note* Gotcha bit Oliver recently. It took me by total surprise as Gotcha has never once showed any sign of aggression or jealousy towards him.
I wasn't paying close enough attention one day while Gotcha was relaxing on my lap, Oliver came up and smacked him on the tail, not in a mean way. But in a playful way (we're still working on teaching him to be gentle, but he is still just a baby and still learning) it didn't hurt Gotcha at all! But since he was practically napping it startled him! So I put Gotcha up high on the couch out of reach and about 10 minutes later Oliver wanted to sit in my lap so Oliver climbed onto the couch onto my lap and Gotcha jumped on him and nipped his back.
Is wasn't a bad bite at all thankfully! Just a warning pinch but regardless Gotcha was in huge trouble and spent a long timeout in his cage for it.

You might say that Ollie had it coming for bopping his tail, and you may be right! lol lesson learned, but Gotcha can do severe damage to human skin so ANY kind of aggression and biting for ANY reason will not be tolerated and a timeout will always follow.
Ollie is just fine, Gotcha is too! So even though I was careful before, I'm even more careful about it now and don't allow them near touching or jumping distance at all. Gotcha knows that biting is VERY bad.
And until Ollie understands about Gotcha and can be gentle all the time there will be no touching or close interaction.

Thanks for watching! 💙

❗️❗️❗️85% of parrots are either resold, given away, or abandoned within just 2 short years of being purchased. ADOPT DONT SHOP! Rescues are full of these wonderful birds, neglected, abandoned, and thrown out by inexperienced and most uneducated people that didn't know the kind of work and commitment it takes to have birds. STOP UNNECESSARY BIRD BREEDING FOR PROFIT, and help these magnificent creatures.
If you are unable to adopt then please consider donating to a rescue/sanctuary that volunteers their time to help these animals in need. 💚
I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds. ❗️No two parrots are alike...
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
So if you are interested in a parrot, please research, volunteer at a parrot rescue/sanctuary, KNOW what you're getting yourself into before you take on the work that comes with loving and homing a parrot.
Parrots are a LIFETIME commitment. They can live up to 80+ years!!
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots the best life they can possibly have! (Night out, gone on weekends, vacation time, a clean quiet house, extra money.. Etc.)
But to me it's all worth it, my parrots are my family and I love them like my children!
Please DO YOUR RESEARCH before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies...
They only have us💗❗️❗️
