“Hot news” – The Southwick Broadside

In the days after July 4, 1776, Americans gathered in town squares to read broadsides, i.e. posters, of the Declaration of Independence. Today, those broadsides are as rare as they are powerful. Washington University in St. Louis historian David Konig and University Librarian Denise Stephens explore the university’s Southwick Broadside and explain why these founding documents still matter.
