What Would Happen if We Were Twice as Intelligent? Nowadays, the average IQ score is about 100, so if humans became twice as intelligent, the score would reach 200. Earl Hunt, who used to be a professor of psychology at the University of Washington, stated that only one person in 10 billion has such an above-average IQ. However, let's imagine that everyone had this incredibly high level of intellect. How would life change?

If they were twice as intelligent, people would also become more attractive. This would happen because all smart people are perceived as more appealing, as a study conducted at Harvard University proved. So even an average-looking person would move to the top of the list of the sexiest people on the planet if their IQ was 200.

More people would suffer from mental illnesses.3:17
According to different studies, brilliant people tend to be more susceptible to mental disorders. Such famous geniuses as Nikola Tesla, David Foster Wallace, Emily Dickinson, and Howard Hughes had problems connected with their mind. Intelligent people usually have high anxiety levels as well, which is why their chances of having an anxiety disorder are higher. A study conducted at the University of Glasgow determined a direct connection between a high IQ level and bipolar disorder.

There would be fewer crimes. 4:09
According to researchers, criminals tend to have a lower IQ score than people who don't commit crimes. There's a theory that those who aren't exceptionally smart use brute force to get mates and resources. They would rather steal or cheat than find a full-time job. The study also proves that they often don't even realize the consequences of their criminal actions.

Lotteries would disappear. 6:40
Super intelligent people have a better understanding of how, according to math and probability, they're unlikely to win the lottery. That's why it's more logical to use those few dollars you save by NOT buying a lottery ticket on something more reasonable.
