After two sold-out editions in the past years at Planeta NYC, the Mediterranean Jazz Fest will be hosted for the first time by Drom. Five acts from around the Mediterranean will debut brand new material: Magda Giannikou, well known worldwide as the creative mind behind Banda Magda will join forces with Mavrothi Kontanis to present a new project that is firmly rooted in the folk music of their homeland Greece; Lebanese pianist Tarek Yamani will share the stage with Andalusian flamenco phenomenon Antonio Lizana for a very special one time performance; upcoming singer-songwriter and Tiny Desk-finalist Lau Noah will sing brand new songs; Catalan pianist LLuis Capdevila will preview his new album and flamenco-jazz-guitarist Andreas Arnold will conclude the night with the presentation of his upcoming album Odisea. Don’t miss this event which will celebrate the diversity and rich musical heritage of the Mediterranean.
