In this informative video, five-time Olympic Gold Medalist Tom Jager teaches a young swim team how to become successful competitive backstroke swimmers. Jager presents a progressive system of techniques, training methods,and drills designed to develop the most efficient backstroke possible. The topics covered in this program include:streamlining, body-positioning, kicking techniques, head position, arm and hand positions, developmental drills, common errors and corrections, and more.

About the Coach:
For nearly a decade, Tom Jager was the world record holder in the 50 Meter Freestyle. Tom competed in the 1984, 1988, and 1992 Olympic games, and earned five Gold Medals, one Silver Medal, and one Bronze Medal. In 2004, Jager became the head coach of the University of Idaho's Idaho Vandals women's swim team. He then accepted the head coaching position for the Washington State Cougars swim team at Washington State University in 2011. Tom Jager was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2001.
