As part of the 150th Anniversary celebrations of the Department of Zoology [our first Professor was appointed in 1866], we commissioned a set of short films in which eleven zoologists describe the moment – The Eureka Moment – at which they made an important discovery. It is worth celebrating these diverse moments, because they are what drive scientists on, define their careers, and are the raw material on which all the other activities of any department are based.
Since these films were aimed at alumni, we chose members of staff with a long period of work in the Department. These teaser films show a very short extract from each of the films. The films were made by Cambridge Filmworks
