Rural people are on the climate change frontline. Working in nature, they suffer most despite contributing least to the changing climate.
Supporting rural livelihoods and small island states to adapt agriculture techniques and develop climate-resilient approaches is becoming increasingly urgent to ensure the food security of hundreds of millions.
Promoting sustainable food and agriculture can play a major part in realising the rural transformation needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement.
While agriculture and food systems contribute to climate change, they are also part of the solution. Actions in agriculture, forestry and fisheries can mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and promote climate adaptation.
